Congratulations New Parents

We at First Presbyterian Church rejoice with you on the birth of your child. You are the most important persons in the life of your child. Your responsibilities as parents are many and awesome. You will want to do everything within your power and abilities to help your child grow to be strong, healthy, and happy, to prepare your child for success in school and in life.

In recent years we have been reminded that parents are a child’s primary teachers. We believe this is true for the spiritual training of our children. Parents play a significant role as children learn about God and the wonder of the world in which we all live. We would like to offer you some assistance in this most important task.

Project Joseph & Mary

We remember the important part that Joseph & Mary had as the parents of Jesus. They cared for him so that as the gospel of Luke says, “he grew in body and in wisdom, blessed by both God and people.” (Luke 2:52)

As part of our Project Joseph & Mary, we would like to offer you a Bible story book, The Children’s Bible in 365 Stories. The stories in this book will nurture your child and yourself.

Another resource we would like to provide you is a series of monthly leaflets. The series includes a leaflet for each month through your child’s third birthday with suggestions for simple activities to help explore the world around them and to see God’s presence with them. The leaflet series includes a CD of music/songs appropriate to each year.

We invite you to submit the following information to indicate your interest in these two resources. The Bible storybook will be delivered to your home by a volunteer. The leaflets will be mailed to your home each month and may include other material of interest to new parents.
